With the 2016 legalization of marijuana in California, the market for marijuana has become a huge opportunity for business to grow. However, the stigma of marijuana in the past has discouraged many people to open up cannabis products regardless of its medicinal properties. From my research, I found that males in particular saw skincare as a routine, while females strayed away from associating with marijuana products because of the stigma. I saw the opportunity to create a product line combining marijuana with skincare, in order to create a brand that will open up the marijuana industry to a greater audience.
Lucid is a cannabis skincare brand that emulates the experience of feeling high, where senses are heightened and thoughts are clear. Lucid's flexible identity was inspired by surrealism, and the concept of seeing with your hands. Using the old idea of female pink and male blue, Lucid is a unisex skincare brand that merges gender stereotypes. Lucid is a skincare brand consumers will look forward to using, with its playful design and interactive components to its packaging. With this visual identity, Lucid will push the demographic for skincare and cannabis, and will set the stage for a whole new market.
